Careers in Human Rights
Join us for a panel discussion featuring alumni practitioners in the field of human rights. Our panelists will share their career stories and provide advice and insights for audience members.
Micah Grzywnowicz (LEGS ’14) is currently the International Advocacy Advisor at RFSL, The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights. Micah leads the organization's UN advocacy work with a specific focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and human rights mechanisms. Since 2018, Micah has served as co-chair of the Executive Board of ILGA Europe, of which they have been a member since 2013. They are also a member of the UNDP Civil Society Advisory Committee. Previously, they worked at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe.
Jashar Jasharov (SPP ’16) is currently a Program Manager for a Roma civil society organization in Skopje, North Macedonia and serves as a consultant to various organizations working on issues connected to human rights. Previously, he served with the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Orsolya Jeney (LEGS ’07) has worked within human rights organizations in various roles since graduating from CEU, including nine years at Amnesty International Magyarország, where she started in the role of Campaign Manager and ultimately served for eight years as Director of the organization. As a student she was very active on campus, among other things initiating and organizing CEU’s first few Spring Balls. Orsolya is currently Operations Manager for UNICEF Magyar Bizottság (National Committee of Hungary).
Csongor Kiss (IRES ’15) is currently a Protection Associate with UNHCR. Since graduating from CEU, Csongor has both interned with UNHCR and worked in a variety of roles with the organization in Hungary, including in emergency and field situations.
