Career Services at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for the position of Career Services Coordinator. The CEU Career Services plays a leading role in institutional efforts to ensure that the university’s graduates are prepared to transform their CEU experience into meaningful professional engagement. Career Services works directly with students and alumni, offering guidance, support, and information to help them develop and pursue personal visions for impact and success all over the world. This includes the organization of multiple opportunities each year for students and alumni to engage with the office and employers to learn about career paths and gain fundamental career development skills.
The Career Services Coordinator will serve as an integral member of Career Services, collaborating with other team members on a range of initiatives, events, and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities will involve the following:

Conducting one-on-one career advising sessions with CEU students and alumni on common career development topics

Developing sector and industry-specific knowledge to aid discussions with students and alumni

Organizing and facilitating in-person and/or virtual employer events
-
Identifying job, internship and fellowship opportunities of relevance to CEU students and alumni and sharing this information via CEU’s careers platform, CareerNext

Gathering information about employers of potential relevance to specific student groups and attending occasional meetings with current and potential employer partners

Contributing conscientiously to our efforts to track student engagement with the office.

Creating resources to help inform and educate students and alumni about careers topics such as job/internship hunting, application documents, networking, and interview skills.

Developing and delivering online, in-person, and hybrid workshops and events on various topics of career education.

Researching new and current career topics of potential interest to students and alumni.

Qualifications
Mandatory:
-
Teaching/presenting, tutoring, mentoring and/or career counseling experience.

Experience in developing and facilitating educational workshops and/or trainings and in designing educational/training materials.

Excellent communication skills.
-
Excellent research and writing skills.
-
A strong learning inclination (i.e. takes pleasure in constant learning on the job).

Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
-
Experience in working and/or studying in a multi-cultural environment.
-
University degree (Bachelor’s or higher, Master’s preferred).

Near native-level fluency in English (written and oral).
Assets:

Knowledge of career paths pursued by graduate and/or undergraduate university graduates of degree programs in the social sciences and humanities in the non-profit, public, multilateral and/or private sectors, both within and outside of Europe.

Experience organising complex projects

Experience working with/understanding the recruitment processes of employers
What CEU Offers
We offer a yearly salary starting at 46,000 EUR as well as additional benefits (e.g., pension plan, sabbatical system). The initial contract is for one year.
