We are looking for an outgoing, reliable, and passionate colleague to join CEU’s Public Affairs and Media Relations Office. If you enjoy bringing people together, creating meaningful connections, and making an impact through events and communications, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
As an Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in raising CEU’s visibility, strengthening relationships with our partners and audiences, and ensuring that our message reaches the right people. You’ll be part of a small, dynamic, and supportive team that values creativity, precision, and collaboration.
The Outreach Officer supports the Public Affairs and Media Relations Office at CEU in strengthening the university’s visibility and reputation, particularly in Austria and the DACH region. The position combines event organization and outreach activities (approx. 60%) with data and contact management (approx. 40%). The Outreach Officer will work closely with the Manager of Public Affairs and Media Relations, colleagues across CEU, and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Events, Visibility & Outreach (60%)

Independently organize and support CEU events (lectures, conferences, public events) to maximize visibility and stakeholder engagement.

Coordinate logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications for outreach events.

Support media outreach by preparing press materials and maintaining contacts with media representatives.

Contribute to CEU’s presence at external conferences, fairs, and public engagement events.
Data & Contact Management (40%)

Maintain and update CEU’s contact management system (CRM).

Ensure data accuracy and consistent use of the system across the team.

Prepare contact lists for targeted outreach campaigns.

Support reporting and evaluation of outreach activities using CRM data.
Qualifications
-
Completed university degree (BA or equivalent), preferably in communications, public relations, event management, or related fields.

At least 2–3 years of relevant work experience (e.g., event management, communications, outreach, database management).

Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

Proven experience with data management systems (CRM or equivalent).

Strong interpersonal skills and service orientation.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

Team-oriented but also able to work independently.

Language requirements: Fluent English; minimum B2 level in German (with proof).

What CEU Offers
We offer a competitive salary at around €50,000 gross/year. The final offer will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
