The Department of Network and Data Science of the Central European University (CEU) invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher for the duration of 22 months starting on September 1, 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Márton Karsai.
Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join our DUT-FFG project on “COLINE – Complex Links of Neighbourhoods” (www.dut-coline.org) with the aim to explore the effects of the “15-minute city” concept on socioeconomic segregation patterns in terms of urban mobility and amenity access. The project builds on collaborations with local data providers and will be carried out through close interactions with the other international project partners.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a PhD in data science, computational social science, network science, computer science, urban science or similar quantitative fields. The project work is strongly data-driven with a special focus on Vienna and it will require skills in data combination, statistical data analysis, machine learning and computational modelling methods. Solid knowledge in Python programming as well as good academic writing, communication, and presentation skills in English are required. Strong interest in interdisciplinary research is expected. There are no teaching obligations but opportunities.
