The School of Undergraduate Studies invites applications for a new hybrid Program Coordinator/Academic Advisor position that is being created in response to the continued growth of the undergraduate programs. The position will support the current program coordinator and academic advising needs of the three BA programs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Student Queries: Support program coordinators in addressing student questions and resolving student-related issues.
  • Department Administration: Assist with the implementation and coordination of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Coordination between Advisors and Program Coordinators: Facilitate communication and coordination between academic advisors and program coordinators, particularly in areas where responsibilities overlap (e.g., custom diet plans and academic matters), helping ensure consistent and well-managed processes.
  • Scheduling: Supporting course scheduling.
  • Support for Future BA Programs: Assist with the administration and operational integration of new BA programs as they are approved, helping incorporate them into the existing BA program structure.
  • Course Registration: Manage course registration processes and handle ad-hoc registration requests.
  • Study Abroad Administration: Support the administration of study abroad applications and related processes.
  • Academic Advising Administration: Assist with the administration of the academic advising process, including documenting advising meetings and maintaining advising records and documentation.
  • Academic Records and Requirements: Help ensure the accurate recording and tracking of student credits and fulfillment of program requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s degree
•    At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing position ideally in academia or at an international company / institution
•    Strong ability to work independently, with skills in managing own workflow in coordination with other staff and faculty
•    Ability to balance sensitivity towards student needs with ensuring student adherence to university and program regulations
•    Proficiency in spoken and written English is a must.
•    Proficiency in using Office 365 and MS products, as well as Zoom and video-conferencing software
•    Discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information 
•    Multicultural orientation and open-mindedness
•    Good organizational skills, including the ability to shift between hybrid, in-person, and fully remote environments
•    Strong interpersonal skills, requiring the ability to understand and respond to the competing needs  of diverse clients
•    Interest in creative problem-solving 
•    Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize
•    Previous work experience at CEU is an advantage
•    Previous higher education sector experience is an advantage
